Catherine Brunell recently starred in Broadway’s Mean Girls where she played triple duty as Mrs. Heron/Ms. Norbury/Mrs. George. Prior to Mean Girls, she starred as Portia in the Broadway hit, Something Rotten. She has performed the title roles in Broadway’s Mary Poppins and Thoroughly Modern Millie and played the role of Eponine in the Broadway production of Les Miserables at the Imperial Theatre. Other Broadway credits include: Big River (revival with Deaf West Theater), A Tale of Two Cities, and ELF.

Catherine's professional career began while attending college at Northwestern University. When she was a junior, Catherine was plucked from an open-call audition and cast in the national touring production of Les Miserables, where she covered the roles of both Eponine and Cosette. Nat’l Tour/Regional credits include: Big River (Ford’s Theatre), Anything Goes (Williamstown Theatre Festival), A Wonderful Life (Paper Mill Playhouse), A.R. Gurney’s Love Letters (Skyline Theatre Co.), Paramour (Old Globe Theater), Call Me Madam (Goodspeed), Little Women (Shaeffer Theater at Duke U.), Guys and Dolls (St. Louis MUNY), Roman Holiday (MUNY), and Sleeping Beauty (Barter Theater). Catherine was twice nominated for a Kevin Kline Award for Best Actress for her portrayals of Laurey in Oklahoma and Eliza in My Fair Lady at the St. Louis MUNY. Television: Netflix’s The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, NBC’s The Sound of Music LIVE! (starring Carrie Underwood), and NBC’s One Night Only.

Catherine has performed in Broadway concert series as a soloist in theatres and concert halls across the nation and as a guest soloist for the Carolina Philharmonic. Catherine is a finisher in two New York City Marathons. She resides in New Jersey with her husband, Chris, and their three children.
